Records, 1939-1940.

Records of this committee created by Joint Resolution No. 3 of the Senate and House of Representatives (February 1939) in response to a public outcry over alleged misconduct of state officials, including illegal, unlawful, and unauthorized expenditures of public funds. The committee of ten members, five from the Senate and five from the House of Representatives, was to conduct a full and complete investigation of the state government's departments and agencies. The bulk of the records are contained in two files: the administrative file and the investigative file. The administrative file contains correspondence, requisitions, memos, and other administrative records; the investigative file includes correspondence, research materials, memos, and reports documenting the committee's investigations. Both files are arranged alphabetically by subject.
